Residents have the opportunity to share their feedback regarding an Official Community Plan amendment proposed for 460 Conklin Avenue. Feedback is being collected now through to November 19, 2023.
The proposal consists of an 8-unit townhouse development featuring two, 3-storey buildings. This proposal requires an amendment to the City’s Official Community Plan to change the ‘future land use’ designation on the property from Detached Residential to Ground Oriented Residential.
“This large lot and the existing infrastructure are capable of supporting additional housing opportunities,” says Audrey Tanguay, Planning and Licensing Manager for the City of Penticton. “Multi-family housing opportunities in a central location align with the Official Community Plan’s vision so we want to hear whether residents support this proposed change to the future land use.”
Project details including draft design plans are available at shapeyourcitypenticton.ca. For those interested in the proposed development, two opportunities to discuss the project with staff have been set:
Residents can complete their feedback forms at shapeyourcitypenticton.ca or fill out a paper copy at the engagement kiosk located at the Penticton Public Library. Feedback collected will be shared with the applicant for consideration prior to presenting the amendment to Council for first reading. Should the amendment receive first reading following the engagement process, residents will have an additional opportunity to share their feedback with Council at a future Public Hearing, expected to be held in December or January.
