Facebook has pulled an ad from a Kelowna theatre company, saying it violates their rules about being sexually explicit.
The Fred Skeleton Theatre Company paid $400-dollars to promote their upcoming musical - 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' - about a transgendered woman who leads a punk rock band.
It opens in two weeks at Lake Country's Creekside Theatre.
Director Shannon Mason-Brown says it's the story of Hedwig's life journey. She says the ad is the musical's poster, glam and sassy - but not sexual.
Facebook reacted to a complaint from someone in the Central Okanagan - the ad was only seen by targeted Facebook users in Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon.
