One of the longest running parades in the Okanagan has been saved.
Cancelled in February, the Falkland Stampede Parade is back on.
Sabrina Ujma says no one was interested in coordinating the 101st parade so she decided to stepped in.
"I didn't hear why it was cancelled. I just heard that it was cancelled. I talked the chairperson and asked why and she said why. I said well, I will try to change that".
Ujma was quickly on the phone obtaining a permit to close a portion of Highway 97 so the parade could proceed.
"It has been posted on social media and on our Facebook pages in town and so far everyone has been very excited that it is continuing."
The parade is Sunday May 19th at 1 pm.
