The BC Wine Institute has received a 50 thousand cheque from the Provincial and Federal government.
How will the money be used?
Kelowna-Lake MP Stephen Fuhr explains.
"So when they are down there, they can promote agri-tourism up in BC and in the Okanagan Valley. I understand there are about a million people a year that come from the Pacific Northwest to British Columbia and it generates 250 million dollars in revenue for BC".
Fuhr says in 2016, BC wine exports increased 4 percent over the previous year to 9.7 million dollars.
The top markets for BC wine last year were China, Taiwan and the United States.
