The Finlay Creek Fire, southwest of Peachland, is now 1,300 hectares in size and 15% contained.
The BC Wildfire Service says winds have been calmer the last two days - resulting in less severe fire behaviour - so crews were able get the upper hand along the fire's southeast flank.
Officials are concerned about stronger winds in the coming days as a cold front moves into the region.
There are currently 66 firefighters, 11 helicopters and 30 pieces heavy equipment working on the fire.
All evacuation alerts remain in place - and a detailed map showing affected properties is available at cordemergency.ca.
