While Kelowna is bracing for flooding season, it’s important to remember that we are also approaching fire season here in the Okanagan.
Starting this Saturday, until the end of May, the Kelowna Fire Department will be going door-to-door in the Clifton neighbourhood offering free FireSmart assessments.
During these assessments, residents will be able to walk around their property with a firefighter to identify potential fire hazards.
Kelowna residents can book a FireSmart assessment for their homes anytime throughout the year by contacting Rick Euper at the Kelowna Fire Department at 250-469-8788.
Last year, the Fire Department received $10,000 from the Union of BC Municipalities to test the FireSmart Canada app during its pilot project phase.
