Five people have been charged in connection to an alleged assault.
On February 27th, a man arrived at Kelowna General Hospital suffering from serious injuries.
Kelowna RCMP believe he had gone to a house to buy drugs where he was then held against his will and attacked.
He was subsequently released from hospital while continuing to recover from his injuries.
After further investigation, the RCMP's Southeast District Emergency Response Team was called in to help arrest five suspects at various locations across Kelowna on March 1st.
48-year-old Clayton Zeleniski has been charged with kidnapping, robbery, unlawful confinement and assault causing bodily harm.
32-year-old Shane Haines has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and unlawful confinement.
37-year-old Timothy Hennessy has been charged with robbery, unlawful confinement and assault with a weapon.
24-year-old Nicole Sidhu has been charged with robbery and unlawful confinement.
18-year-old Dalton Zeleniski has been charged with unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
“This disturbing incident serves as a significant reminder that those who choose to participate in the illegal drug trade are at immense risk,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna Regional Detachment. “We will continue to target those who pose the greatest risk to our community.”
All five defendants are set to appear in court on Monday.
