With the recent passing of 66 year old Isabel Burroughs, road workers across the province are getting more and more concerned for their safety.
Angelina Tambellini who works for Ansan Traffic Control says she was hit with one of her traffic cones on Tuesday morning on Gordon drive, near the H2O centre, "A dump truck went flying by so fast that he knocked probably about 4 of my cones over, and these are the big cones. One hit the back of my leg and then bounced off of me and jammed underneath my truck. That's how hard he hit this cone."
Luckily she only suffered a minor bruise on her leg.
Tambellini mentioned the tragic passing of Burroughs and went on to say she's concerned she won't be around to celebrate Christmas with her 14 year old daughter if drivers don't start taking more care on the roads.
Tambellini says Ansan Traffic Control has 50 to 60 people on the road today, working between Vernon and Penticton.
