At approximately 4:21 PM yesterday, Kelowna Fire Department Dispatch received a 911 call reporting black smoke coming residence in the 2700 Reyn Road.
Initial crews found a shed on fire. 2- 500 lb. propane tank, where next to the shed, and one tank was venting gas and flames 15 ft in the air.
The fire crews knocked down the fire and kept it from extending into the house just inches away. Also kept the propane tanks cooled.
The residence adjacent to the fire sustained little damage. Occupant’s where able to returned to their home.
Two people where home at the time.
The cause of the fire is not deemed suspicious.
Five Engines, a Command Unit, Rescue truck, Tender and a Safety Vehicle with 21 fire personnel were on scene along with RCMP, EHS and Fortis.
