Cases of the flu have been increasing in the Central Okanagan, and Interior Health says it seems to be hitting younger people the hardest.
Medical Health Officer Karen Goodison says the two typical strains of Influenza A are H1 and H3.
In H3 seasons - more seniors are impacted - and with H1 it's those aged 20 to 65.
"So, everyone out there who is happily working, thinking they are healthy and otherwise not needing a flu shot - this might be a good year to get it, because the H1 influenza typically impacts those in ghat age range," says Goodison.
Interior Health is reminding everyone to practice frequent hand washing, if you're sick stay home - and get a flu shot.
