The man previously convicted of killing Armstrong teenager Taylor Van Diest in 2011 is set to be sentenced.
Matthew Foerster pleaded guilty to second degree murder on Monday in a Vernon courtroom.
Foerster had previously been convicted of first degree murder in 2014, after the case had gone to trial in front of a jury.
But he was then granted a retrial last year by the court of appeal, after it was ruled the trial judge had given incorrect instructions to that jury.
Back on Halloween night in 2011, Van Diest was violently assaulted while walking to a friend's house, and left badly injured beside some railroad tracks.
She later died at Kelowna General Hospital.
Foerster is scheduled to return for sentencing next month.
