Former West Kelowna City Councilor Gord Milsom announced on Friday that he will be running for mayor in the fall.
Milsom, a West Kelowna resident of 26 years, served on City Council from 2007 to 2014.
While away from City hall, he has served as the Director of both the Greater Westside Board of Trade and the West Kelowna Daybreak Rotary Club. He also volunteers at the Westside Health Network.
Milsom says that he wants to take a people-based approach with his campaign, hoping to build and strengthen relationships within the community, as well as promote public safety by investing in the police force and safer roads.
In the meantime, he hopes to get straight to work with the campaign.
"I'll be meeting with community leaders and business leaders throughout the Okanagan, and I'll be quite active," says Milsom. "So I'll be very visible."
The West Kelowna Mayoral Election takes place on October 20th, 2018.
