Cindy Fortin has been re-elected as Mayor of Peachland following a judicial recount.
The recount was greenlit by a judge on Friday, after Fortin and challenger Harry Gough were tied at 804 votes each in the Peachland municipal election.
Gough was initially thought to have won the election (804-803), but an unofficial recount suggested a tie. It also revealed an issue with one of the voting machines during the election..
AM 1150's Phil Johnson has confirmed that the judicial recount at the Peachland Community Centre resulted in another tie, which led to the Mayoral election being decided once and for all by lot. In the end, it was Fortin's name that was picked.
Fortin has not yet made any official comments on her election victory.
