Apparently our gas stations in the Central Okanagan are selling us regular too cheap. As a result, profit margins aren't there.
Dan McTeague of Gas Buddy told the AM 1150 Early Edition that we should expect an 8 to 10 cents per litre increase before Friday.
McTeague says, "Tradionally here in Kelowna, gas stations want about a 12 cent profit margin. Right now, it's costing $1.05 to $1.07 to buy the gas wholesale, so charging only $1.09.9, they aren't making enough to pay the electricity to turn on the pumps."
As of the commute this morning, Gas Buddy reports prices steady at 109.9 across Kelowna and West Kelowna. You can check Gas Buddy by clicking here.
