The City of West Kelowna has fully reopened Gellatly Road.
The road had been closed since May 5 from Witt Road to Boucherie Road after flooding of Smith Creek eroded the sloper adjacent to the road.
Construction is now complete on the section of road, just north of a section that was repaired in 2014 after spring flooding of Smith Creek eroded the slope on the lower section of the road.
The City thanks the residents of Witt and Carrall Roads for their patience as they experienced increase traffic volumes on the detour route while Gellatly Road was closed.
Construction to repair the flood-impacted Gellatly Walkway, adjacent to Gellatly Road on the waterfront, is expected to be complete at the end of August.
Motorists can expect single-lane alternating traffic during construction.
