The community is encouraged to attend an open house to learn about the City of West Kelowna’s plans to replace Gellatly Bridge over Powers Creek, in winter 2020, including details on construction timelines, road closures and detours.
City staff and engineering consultants will be available to provide information and answer questions:
Wednesday, October 30, 2019
4 to 6 p.m.
West Kelowna Yacht Club
4111 Gellatly Rd
The bridge replacement project will begin January 2020 and last approximately five months. Crews will close Gellatly Road for approximately the first three months.
The Gellatly Bridge over Powers Creek is more than 50 years old, has reached the end of its service life and can no longer handle higher creek flows, which have occurred in recent years.
To stay up to date on the bridge replacement project, the public is encouraged to sign up to receive notifications at www.westkelownacity.ca/subscribe.
