Dropping garbage off at the Glenmore Landfill will cost a little bit more next year.
Rates are going up January 1, with the flat rate for up to 250 kg worth of trash going from $10 to $11.
That will then increase to $12 for 2019.
The other big change is the elimination of the $2.50 rate per garbage bag, as you'll need to pay the flat rate.
The RDCO is reminding people that for the same price, you can buy Tag-a-Bag stickers, which allow you to add up to two extra bags to the curb on your pickup day.
The rate increases will mean bring the annual cost of curbside waste collection in Kelowna to $174.30.
The rate changes were approved at a council meeting in October, after staff brought forward a report that showed Glenmore's landfill having some of the lowest prices in the province.
Commercial users will notice changes as well - the per tonne price for garbage increases from $65 up to $85 in the new year, before further increases to $95 in 2019, and $100 in 2020.
Other rates for 2018 include yard waste at $5 per load, mattresses at $12.50 each, drywall at $175 per tonne, and loads that need sorting at $125 per tonne.
