Kelowna councillor Tracy Gray has announced she's not running for re-election in next month's civic vote.
Instead - Gray says she wants to be the Conservative nominee for Kelowna-Lake Country in the 2019 federal election.
Gray says she is ready to represent the riding.
"I am really ready to be the voice of our constituents here, in Ottawa the voice of small business in particular. I really started down this path about a year ago when the current Prime Minister was here speaking at UBC. As I was sitting there I felt myself getting more and more frustrated listening to him answer questions".
Developer Renee Wasylyk is the other contender.
Kelowna-Lake Country was a Tory stronghold for years before Liberal Stephen Fuhr took control in 2015 from Ron Cannan.
