A half kilometer section of the Mission Creek Greenway is open again for visitors.
The unseasonal ice build-up in the creek appears to have stabilized over the past few days so that the recreational trail on both sides of the creek can be used once again between the Gordon Drive and Lakeshore Road bridges.
Visitors should be aware that depending on the weather, water levels and ice conditions in the creek could change rapidly.
As a precaution, the Gordon Drive Bridge south side underpass will remain closed.
Until it reopens, trail users are asked to use the pedestrian walkway across the bridge and use the underpass on the north side of the creek.
Also for their safety, visitors should stay on the Greenway trails and well away from the banks and ice in the creek.
