Provincial court judge Ellen Burdette handed down the decision on Tuesday, finding 28-year-old Trevor Stocks guilty of dangerous driving causing death.
In May 2015, Stocks was driving westbound on McCurdy Road near Morrison Road when he lost control and crossed the centre line, colliding with a car being driven by 21-year-old Joselyn Casavant.
She died at the scene.
Burdette found the speed Stocks was driving at as he negotiated a curve caused him to lose control and drive on the wrong side of the road, and it was not a momentary lapse in judgement as argued by his defence lawyer.
An RCMP crash analyst report said Stocks was driving between 15 and 24 km/hr over the posted speed limit of 50 km/hr.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
