BC Wildfire officials say the wildfire is now roughly one hectare in size.
Six firefighters and two pieces of heavy equipment were sent to the Harding Creek area to put out the fire, while an airtanker also contributed.
The aircraft work has been completed, while crews remain on the ground.
As originally estimated, the fire is about 15 km northwest of West Kelowna.
The BC Wildfire service says crews are responding to a wildfire northwest of West Kelowna.
Officials say the fire is burning about 15 km ouutside the city, near the Jackpine Lake Forest Service Road.
Firefighting aircraft are responding to the site, along with ground support.
The size of the fire hasn't yet been confirmed, but it was initally estimated to be about one hectare in size.
More information on the fire is expected to be released this afternoon.
