The Ministry of Transportation's third round of public meetings on the future of transportation in the region will be held next week - one of the big topics being a second Okanagan Lake crossing in Kelowna.
The latest transportation study found the Central Okanagan will face some big challenges in the next two decades.
It says by 2040 - Kelowna's Bennett Bridge will reach capacity with the approaches on the Kelowna side reaching capacity well before that - also almost all signalized intersections in the region will have significant congestion and delays, and a trip on Highway 97 between Peachland and Lake Country will take almost 15 minutes longer during the morning rush - and up to 24 minutes longer in the afternoon.
