It's been a busy summer at Kelowna's Gospel Mission feeding the homeless in the community.
Executive Director Randy Benson the cooler weather has made it tolerable for those without a roof over their head.
"The heat hasn't been as intense. The other thing is we've been very fortunate not to have the smoky air this summer. In the previous years we have had a lot more people with compromised immune systems and breathing issues."
The Gospel Mission is holding a "Homeless is No Picnic' BBQ tomorrow at City Park - between 11:30 and 2 pm.
"Even though it is summer and everyone is having a good time, there are still people without homes that we need to be aware of. The picnic is one big party and we are looking forward to it", Benson added.
