A 32-year-old Kelowna man is currently in police custody facing potential criminal charges after his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run.
On Monday, May 7th, shortly after 9 PM, RCMP were notified of a man in a black Mitsubishi driving dangerously, possibly impaired, in downtown Kelowna.
According to witnesses, the driver was reportedly going down the middle of the road above the speed limit.
The Mitsubishi crashed into a Ford Escape at the intersection of Gordon Drive and Raymer Road, before driving away from the scene.
While tracking the suspect, RCMP found the damaged Mitsubishi abandoned on Sutherland Avenue.
The suspect was arrested shortly afterwards at a residential street. He remains in police custody.
RCMP later discovered that the man was on parole at the time of the incident.
