Tickets are running out for Homes for the Holidays tour, happening on Saturday, November 16th.
It’s a self-guided tour of seven homes around Kelowna, specially decorated for the holidays.
This year funds are being raised to support the Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COHA).
They provide compassionate care, comfort, support and learning to those dying or grieving alone in our community.
COHA Executive Director, Natasha Girard was on Am1150’s Early Edition. She described it as the best kept secret, providing a service you don't know is there until you need it.
“We have our centre on Cooper Rd., and we do a lot of our bereavement services out of there but we also support people in Hospice House on Ethel St.”
The day will be filled with festive treats, demos and warm holiday cheer.
“We couldn't be more pleased with the homes that we have the on tour this year, very unique to what's been done in the past,” said Girard.
This is their second year being the benefactor for this event.
“We've got six private homes that are all unique in its size, in its design and we have a show home that's being decorated as well.”
The homes are decorated by the homeowners, a designer or a combination of both working together creatively.
Each stop offers different snacks, wine tastings and holiday themed décor.
“I think it's going to take you a good four hours of the day. People stop and enjoy and they want to take a look and take everything in. Make a day out of it, go for lunch, split up the day, go for dinner or stop at a winery on the road,” said Girard.
Tickets are $59.00 and can be purchased online at http://hospicecoha.org or at Kelowna tickets Box Office.
The tour runs from 12p.m. - 8p.m.
