It’s looking like we could have a hot weekend here in Kelowna, with highs remaining in the upper-twenties.
Saturday may cool down by a few degrees, while Sunday is expected to go back up to 29 degrees.
Environment Canada meteorologist Lisa Erven says temperatures like this mean the snowpack in the mountains likely won’t last much longer.
“All across the southern third of the province, we’ve been anywhere from 5 to 13 degrees above normal, so we’ve had some pretty rapid melt of the low and mid elevation snowpack,” says Erven.
Next week could see temperatures drop towards highs in the lower-twenties, which are normal for this time of year.
