A Penticton man is facing several criminal charges after his arrest in West Kelowna on Wednesday, May 9th.
Around 11 PM, RCMP found an Itasca Cambria motorhome (which had been reported stolen last month) parked on Dobbin Road.
While searching the motorhome, police found hundreds of dollars in counterfeit money, as well as a small amount of heroin.
38-year-old Kory Horwood was arrested at the scene without incident.
RCMP Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey says Horwood is well known to south Okanagan police.
“We determined that (Horwood), who was also believed to be an unlicensed and prohibited driver at the time, was in breach of his court-imposed conditions of release.”
He’s expected to appear in court on Monday, May 14th.
Horwood has a lengthy criminal record going back to 2007, with charges including theft and assault.
Investigators also say there’s a chance that Horwood could be linked to the large amount of counterfeit money that’s been going around the area in recent months.
“I would still remind business owners to be mindful of the money that they’re accepting,” says O’Donaghey.
