ICBC has announced it will seek a 6.3 percent increase to basic insurance rates.
It now falls to the BC Utilities Commission to review the insurance corporation's request.
ICBC is projected to lose 890-million dollars this year, despite major cost-saving reforms that were introduced previously.
If approved, the average driver will see a $60 dollar increase on their basic auto insurance.
The new rates would come into effect on April 1st.
