The Central Okanagan Public School District is hosting an info session on Thursday night, for anyone interested in becoming one of 7 Trustees. Interested candidates can meet District staff and get a better idea of what the responsibilities are, and what type of commitment is expected.
"We have 22,000-plus students and their families, that we serve, but we also have responsibilities to the Ministry of Education, municipalities, the Regional District, plus First Nations that we're all trying to work with to provide the best education for the youth of the region," states Kevin Kaardal, Superintendent of Central Okanagan's Public Schools
Nominee packages are available at the Kelowna City Clerk’s office and have to be completed and submitted by the 14th. That’s the same timeline as City Council and Mayoral candidates that intend to run in the October 20th Municipal election.
The School Trustee info session is at 1040 Hollywood Road south at 6:30PM.
