The Kelowna Fire Department has its game plan in place, to deal with operations once Fire Chief Jeff Carlisle rides off into retirement at the end of next week.
30-plus-year veteran of the Department Lou Wilde, who's currently the Deputy Chief, will takeover the top spot on an interim basis.
The city says they expect the transition to be seamless, and that the search for a permanent fire chief is ongoing, and expected to conclude in the next few months.
Wilde is also in charge of the Fire Prevention, Training and Administration Branch, and was named Chief Officer for Kelowna back in 2003.
