On Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th, RAGMOP Theatre, an internationally acclaimed theatre duo, will take over the Mary Irwin Theatre in downtown Kelowna’s Rotary Centre for the Arts.
RAGMOP Theatre is bringing its wordless physical comedy A Can of Worms to the RCA. Described by the Edmonton Journal as “the perfect mix of magic, physical comedy and charm…”, audiences can expect an exquisite show that is laugh-out-loud funny, hauntingly surreal and touching.
Ultimately, the show maps evolution, with a meditation on animal instinct and the search for human connection, but along the way, there’s dance, puppetry, illusion and even a side of cannibalism.
Tickets for the show are just $29 in advance and the Executive Director of the Rotary Centre for the Arts, Tyler Russell, is delighted to have the show visiting the Mary Irwin Theatre:
“We’re very excited to be having RAGMOP Theatre take over the Mary Irwin Theatre for the weekend. Hot on the heels of Kelowna’s inaugural Fringe Festival, this is mime, mystery, art and comedy that will delight a daring audience, and at just $29 a ticket, it’s a great chance to see an internationally-acclaimed duo. Those who catch this show will remember it for a long time, I have no doubt about that.”
Saturday’s show begins at 7 p.m., while Sunday’s performance is a matinee, beginning at 2 p.m. At the time of writing, there are still some tickets remaining for each performance. Russell is hoping Kelowna’s art and culture lovers will come out to enjoy A Can of Worms:
“There’s always an element of risk with every show that you put on, but when the quality is this substantial, it’s a risk worth taking in my view. If they’re able, I hope some of our local art and culture fans will be able to attend the show to help support it and to help ensure that we can keep bringing groundbreaking art to downtown Kelowna. With the best of intentions, this doesn’t happen without our fantastic patrons!”
