The WHL is considering pushing back the start of the regular season.
League governors are discussing that possibility.
The season is tentatively scheduled to start January 8th.
Increasing COVID-19 numbers may force the league to start in late January or early February.
Right now, the league has decided that when it proceeds, teams will play in their respective provinces.
In the Kelowna Rockets case, they will only play teams in the BC Division; Victoria, Kamloops, Vancouver and Prince George.
