The trial of a Kelowna man accused in the death of Waylon Percy Junior Jackson is underway, with the jury having been selected on Monday morning.
28-year-old Chad Colton Alphonse was arrested on the evening of March 11th, 2016, after Jackson's body was discovered at a Rutland residence.
The two reportedly knew each other, and had been drinking at the house at the time of the incident.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found Jackson unresponsive, having lost a significant amount of blood.
The exact details of the preliminary inquiry are protected under a publication ban, and Alphonse is currently out of police custody on bail.
Jackson is remembered by loved ones as a loyal, born leader and a family man.
