A partnership between the BC SPCA and the Kelowna based animal food bank is helping make sure pets of homeless and low or no income people in the Okanagan get enough to eat.
Founder Nicole Wilks says the model of the animal food bank is delivery based, making it a good option during COVID 19.
"Most of our drivers are huge dog and cat lovers, and that was part of the favourite feedback I got when they got to go and meet the animals that they were delivering to. We can't do that with COVID, so we will leave the food at their doorstep. They'll know that we're coming in advance to watch for it, and then once our driver has left they just go out and retrieve it."
