An initiative, announced this week by the BC government to bring nurses into doctors offices in the Central Okanagan, is moving forward.
Six Kelowna-area doctors say they're in the early stages of recruitment, with nurses expected to join their offices in the coming months.
The province says the 'nurse-in-practice' initiative is designed to give doctors more time to care for patients with complex health needs and take on new patients.
On April 3rd, Health Minister Terry Lake announced $90-million over three years to expand team-based primary care throughout BC, which included the 'nurse-in-practice' initiative.
