A 34-year-old Kelowna construction worker continues to recover in a Vancouver hospital from horrific burns.
Braden Kapchinsky was pulled from a blaze in a townhouse under construction in the Central Green neighbourhood of Kelowna last Wednesday, March 22nd - he suffered burns to over half his body.
His long-time friend Paul Gates tells AM 1150 News, Braden will remain in a coma for at least another week - aided by a breathing machine as his lungs were also badly burned.
Gates says he's too frail to undergo skin graft surgery.
A GoFundMe campaign has raised $8,500 towards a goal of $10,000 to aid his wife and two young boys - and Gates says the firefighters burn fund is also helping to house the family.
WorkSafe BC says it could be several months before the cause of the fire is determined.
