Kelowna city council will be considering a water utility rate increase on Monday.
City staff are recommending a 2% increase to water utility user rates and a 2% increase to the water quality enchancement reserve fund for both this year and next.
The city says the increases are needed for the operation, maintenance, infrastructure renewal and capital improvements to the utility.
The increase would affect those who receive water through the city, which is about half of the city. For a single family detached, the increase would bring the cost of water to $43.76 per month for 41 cubic metres.
If approved, it will come in effect in May.
