The Kelowna Food Bank is officially opening its doors on a new location.
Located at 2310 Enterprise Way, the building will better accommodate the 4 thousand clients they serve per month.
The Food Bank's Terry Canner says they've created a grocery style experience for those in need.
"What that means is it is a grocery store or market and it is a model that has reach-in coolers, freezers and display racking that we could not fit in our old location. Eack rack or shelve has been labeled with the number of items that each client can take. They make there way up the isle and take the items they need".
In the past, clients were given a pre-made hamper filled with food.
Over $150 thousand dollars in material and labour were donated to bring the building up to speed.
The warehouse is now double the size of its old home on Ellis Street.
