Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Central and South Okanagan with temps expected to be up around 35 degrees Celsius on Monday and Tuesday. No heat records are expected to fall in those 2 areas. A North Okanagan benchmark could be set though.
“I’ve been taking a look around, all across the Southwestern Interior. The only candidate that stands out could be Vernon. We’ve got a (Tuesday)forecasted daytime high of 36 degrees. 36.7 is the old record for July 17th, and that was set back in 2004,” says Environment Canada Meteorologist, Lisa Ervin.
