Kelowna city staff are asking council to approve fee increases at the Glenmore landfill for next year.
A big change will be that for the first time, people would be charged for dumping yard waste.
Instead of being free, loads up to 250 kg would be charged 5 dollars.
The city says all proposed increases are on the back of plans to increase landfill space by over 15 million tonnes in the next eight years, which is set to cost about 50 million dollars.
The cost of dumping garbage would also increase from 10 to 11 dollars, while the tipping fee per tonne would go from the current 65 dollars up to 100 dollars, by 2020.
Council will vote on the proposed changes at Monday's meeting.
