A 47-year-old Kelowna man faces charges of driving under the influence of drugs after a hit and run crash Wednesday evening (Oct 24).
RCMP say at around 6:30 pm - a Dodge Calibre was hit by a Toyota Corolla at Harvey Avenue and Gordon Drive - but the driver of the Corolla took off, only to crash again a short time later at Chandler Drive.
He hit the centre median and then a tree, and because of the damage, had to be pulled out of the wreck by fire fighters.
The driver and passenger of the Dodge Caliber each suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries.
The driver was later transported to hospital as a pre-caution.
Collision investigators of the Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Section are asking additional witnesses to come forward.
