A dangerous driver in the North Okanagan led police on a chase Monday morning.
At about 11 am, the man in a stolen Honda Civic didn't stop for police driving near the town of Fauquier, before getting on the Needles ferry and heading across Upper Arrow Lake.
From there he drove west into Lumby, where he continued to speed through town dangerously.
Spike belts were then set up along Highway 6, but were successfully bypassed by the driver, who cut off onto Kal Lake road.
A helicopter and police dogs were sent in to track the vehicle, which drove into a dead end off of Westkal Road.
After ditching the car and hopping into a backyard, police eventually found the 47-year-old from Kelowna hiding underneath a pile of kayaks.
He was taken to the hospital in Vernon to get treated for minor injuries, and now faces charges related to dangerous driving, stolen property, and driving with a suspended license.
