David McLeod's latest birthday was an unforgettable one.
The big day was on May 17 - the same day he won a $1 million dollar Lotto 6/49 draw.
McLeod moved to Kelowna from Fort St. John about a year ago, and had bought the ticket a few weeks before the draw though that wasn't really a regular thing for him.
"No, actually - I'm very sporadic with how I buy tickets. I just happened to go inside and buy a ticket," he said.
He says he's got a few plans for the extra cash.
"Just paying some debts, and helping the kids in school," he said.
"Donating some to Rotary International, and that's about it."
McLeod says a big debt to pay off would be his mortgage, and that he's got two kids who are currently going through university.
He bought the winning ticket at the Safeway Gas Bar up in Dawson Creek.
