Kelowna Mayor Basran told AM 1150’s Early Edition physical distancing is here to stay for some time.
The city is even looking to bring in more enforcement.
“We’re also looking at bolstering our bylaw enforcement staff by redeploying some staff in other departments to bylaw enforcemnt as we know beaches and parks will get busier.”
Basran says everyone shares the responsibility to follow and enforce physical distancing.
But he says he’s guilty of it himself - lots of people are experiencing physical distancing fatigue.
“People are just getting tired of being cooped up and apart. We're all social beings and we've just got to stay the course here, otherwise we all know what the outcome will be.”
