42 units are being added to Kelowna's affordable housing stock.
The province has purchased the Kelowna Good Night Inn, located on Highway 97 near Leathhead Road, which will provide housing and support for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
It will also include some shelter spaces for extreme weather conditions.
The province says it's spending $6 million for the building, which includes the cost of renovations.
It's expected to be move-in ready early 2018 and will be operated by the Canadian Mental Health Association.
