Kelowna RCMP arrested a 27-year-old woman for fraud on Tuesday, July 3rd in Lake Country, following an investigation by Edmonton Police.
Megan Weistra, a former bookkeeper at a realty and property management company in Edmonton, is accused of intercepting rent payments and transferring them to her personal account between December 2014 and June 2015.
In total, the company lost approximately $275,000.
Weistra, who may also go by the name Megan O'Gorman, is charged with fraud, breach of probation, and producing a false document. She remains in custody at the Okanagan Correctional Centre, and is expected to be transferred back to Edmonton soon.
Police say Weistra could be involved in more possible cases of fraud, and are asking anyone with more information to contact the Edmonton police at 780-423-4567.
