A bizarre series of events led to the arrest of several people over the weekend in Kelowna.
RCMP say Saturday afternoon - a thief robbed the TD Bank at Harvey and Spall, but as he was making his getaway - a dye pack exploded all over the stolen money.
He then dumped the cash, which was picked up by two bystanders - a man and a woman. The man tossed the painted money into the woman's car and she drove off.
When police arrived - they arrested the 46-year-old man for obstruction - and then arrested the woman when she returned with the stolen loot.
On Sunday - police tracked the robbery suspect to a home on Davie Road - but he took off breaking into a nearby home to hide. Officers eventually found him under some stairs inside.
A 44-year-old Kelowna man remains in custody facing several charges.
