The Kelowna RCMP have moved into their new home on Richter Street.
Over twice the size of the old detachment, Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says the 48 million dollar building was long overdue.
"The new facility has a lot of features that are up to standard with more modern standards for functions like evidence processing, identification and forensics with our laboratory here. It features our new cell block with 29 cells in total."
O'Donaghey says the new facility will help them better serve the public.
"It now houses our nearly 380 regular members and support staff from various locations around the city under one roof and that allows us to operate more efficiently and collaboratively as one".
The grand open is scheduled for June 27th.
