A man is in hospital after he was shot by Kelowna RCMP Wednesday afternoon.
In a release, police say plain-clothes Kelowna officers, and officers from the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, tried to arrest a man known to police, near the CIBC on Cooper Road and Harvey Avenue.
A witness tells AM 1150 News that before police opened fire, the suspect jumped out of a cab and into another car. He was wounded, but his injuries are non-life threatening.
Police say the arrest was unrelated to the bank.

The Independent Investigations Office is now investigating to determine whether police actions, or inactions, were linked to the man’s injuries.
