The washrooms at Kelowna's Boyce-Gyro Beach Park have seen better days; built in 1969 and upgraded 20 years later - city staff say the facilities are in dire need of repair.
But instead of renovating the building, a report recommends city councillors approve replacing the building at a cost of $674,000.
Kelowna staff say the facility has 'several significant maintenance defects' - and a new building would include new washrooms, modern fixtures, external showers and lockers - and will be open year-round; right now, it's closed during the winter.
In 2013 - the city spent $800,000 for new washroom facilities at City Park.
